Carnotaurus is a large carnivorus dinosaur included in Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals and Dino Danger Pack. It is the only dinosaur from Dino Danger to not appear in the original Zoo Tycoon.
Without hacks, the Extinct Animals expansion makes it as powerful as Tyrannosaurus rex and other dinosaurs. Its biome is boreal forest.
As with the Tyrannosaurus, it got a make over from the Dino Danger Pack when it was released in Extinct Animals. Carnotaurus means "meat-eating bull", reffering to the horns on the animal's head.
In Dino Danger, it was gray-colored, with orange, yellow and red splotches. Its lower jaw was too large and it somewhat resembled a bulldog. In Extinct Animals, its body was thinner, along with a thinner lower jaw. Its skin is gray with brownish red stripes. However, in life, Carnotaurus had a longer neck, a smaller head, and bumps on its back.
Carnotaurus was a large predatory dinosaur, similar to a Tyrannosaurus rex with a head resembling a bull's (the name "Carnotaurus" can be roughly translated as "carnivorous bull").It lived in Patagonia, Argentina near the end of the Cretaceous period, about 65 to 70 million years ago, and was discovered by José F. Bonaparte, who has discovered many other bizarre, South American dinosaurs.
The most distinctive features of Carnotaurus are the two thick horns above its eyes, and the extremely reduced forelimbs with four fingers. It had a small skull, a thick chest, and a thin tail.It is also characterized by its unusually long neck. The eyes of the Carnotaurus faced forward, which is unusual in a dinosaur, and may indicate binocular vision and depth perception.A single nearly complete skeleton has been described including impressions of skin along almost the entire right side, that show Carnotaurus lacked feathers, unlike many other theropods discovered recently. Instead, the skin is lined with rows of bumps, that become larger toward the spine. It was a medium-sized theropod, about 7.5 m (25 ft) in length, 2.2 m (7 ft 3 in) tall at the hips, and weighing about 1,000 kg.(1.1 tons).
