The Walrus's scientific name, Odobenus rosmarus, traslates to Tooth Walk. This refurs to the animals way of pulling its self out of the water with its massive tusks. The walrus's diet consists mainly of shellfish, but when food is scarce it has been known to dine on crabs or krill. The walrus's "mustach" is composed of thousands of sensative hairs that it uses to search for food. Walrus's are rarly preyed upon because of its volitile temprency. A starving Polar bear will somtimes attack a walrus in hopes of a meal, but is usualy unsucsessful. The biggest threat to a walrus is an Orca when it migrates north.

In Zoo Tycoon: Marine Mania, the walrus was one of multipul Pinnipeds included in the game. Others included the Californian Sea Lion and the Northern Elephant Seal. With exeption of the californian sea lion,the Pacific Walrus is the only pinniped offered in Zoo Tycoon 2: Marine Mania. The walrus can be killed by the polar bear in the game, but not the killer whale.

The Pacific Walrus can perform aquatic shows in Zoo Tycoon 2. Its tricks are fairly simple due to its huge body mass, and are elementry compaired to its cousin's, the sea lion, shows. The walrus's tricks include waving to the crowd and "growling."

Inaccuracies of the Pacific Walrus's behaviours include it's gait, which is the undulation notable to the sea lion, it's preference to land and its front flipper shape which does not sport the fibula of a real walrus.
