The Official Zoo Tycoon Forum was an official site and message board created by Microsoft that allowed Zoo Tycoon fans to communicate, hosting all questions, comments, concerns related to the games. It required a Windows Live ID to use. Features included an extremely active wishlist forum and the regular weekly "creature reveals" in anticipation of the release of Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals.
Thread creation and replies to posts were disabled on June 27th, 2008[1], partly because Microsoft and Blue Fang Games's contract to make the game ended, but also allegedly because of the actions of a forum moderator named Padfoot, who became controversial after banning a member who was known to be handicapped. All the "refugees" were displaced to fansites Zoo Tycoon Member Refuge, Zoo Tycoon Unleashed, and Zoo Tycoon Volcano, among other small sites.
It was shut down in early 2013, alongside the original Zoo Tycoon website.
